Canadian Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds went public and said he was very interested in purchasing the Senators but admitted that he did not have the financial clout to do it on his own and would need a financial partner.

Reynolds Partners With The Remington Group

Bruce Garrioch, from Postmedia has now reported that Reynolds has found a partner to make a bid for the Senators. Reynolds is reported to have partnered with The Remington Group, which is a firm based out of Vaughn, Ontario is one of the biggest real estate developers in Toronto.

The Remington Group was also keen on putting in a bid for the Senators and decided to bring on Reynolds and make him a partner in the group that will look to acquire the Senators and also develop a new rink at LeBreton Flats.

Reynolds already has a stake in a football club called Wrexham AFC which is based in Wales. The Canadian star is a huge NHL fan and is very keen on becoming a part owner of the Senators.

Senators Sale Estimated To Be Close To $2 Billion  

Based on a report from Sportico, the Ottawa Senators is estimated to be around $655 million. The value of the Senators has significantly spiked in the last twelve months to register a 21 percent year on year increase. While Sportico has valued the Senators at $655 million, the Ottawa Business Journal reported that based on NHL ownership transactions in the recent past, the Senators will sell for over $1 billion.

NHL league insiders claim the sale value should touch close to $2 billion as the new owners will get to buy the Ottawa Senators as well as the Canadian Tire Centre and the rights to develop a new rink at LeBreton Flats.

Reynolds and the Remington Group will face stiff competition from other bidders with the main competitor being from Michael Andlauer (Hamilton Bulldogs owner) and Rocco Tullio (Oshawa Generals owner) who have joined forces.
