Canada’s pitching also played a major role in the victory. Jean Ramos earned the win after throwing two innings and allowing one run on one hit. Ramos walked four batters but managed to limit the damage against a South Korean lineup that struggled to generate consistent offense.

Kian Sandhu then took over on the mound and delivered four innings of scoreless relief. He struck out five and surrendered two hits, although he issued seven walks.

Despite the number of free passes, Canada’s pitching staff kept South Korea from turning those opportunities into runs. The Canadians’ defense and timely hitting helped secure a decisive 5-1 result.
