Summary:

  • RJ Barrett delivered a standout performance with 22 points and 10 rebounds against the Boston Celtics.
  • Toronto’s 110-97 victory ended a 10-game losing streak against Boston.
  • On Friday, the Raptors will take on the Milwaukee Bucks, while the Celtics will play the Orlando Magic.

RJ Barrett led the way for the Toronto Raptors with an impressive performance on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the 24-year-old Torontonian tallied 22 points and 10 rebounds, helping his team end a long 10-game losing streak against the Boston Celtics.

The Raptors recorded a 110-97 victory. On Friday, they will return to action against the Milwaukee Bucks, who will attempt to keep their three-game home win streak alive.

Second Consecutive Victory of the Season

Jakob Poeltl contributed 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Scottie Barnes added 18.

The win marked Toronto’s second consecutive victory of the season. Despite beating Golden State earlier in the week, the Raptors are still chasing their first three-game winning streak of the year.

On Boston’s side, Peyton Pritchard delivered a solid performance with 20 points, Kristaps Porzingis added 18, and Jayson Tatum finished with 16 points.

However, the Celtics struggled overall from beyond the arc, only managing to shoot 16 for 46.

The win was Toronto’s first against Boston since March 28, 2022. During that 2022 loss, the Celtics were missing key players, including Jaylen Brown, Tatum, and Al Horford.

Wednesday’s game also marked a significant turnaround for Toronto, given their previous meeting with Boston ended in a franchise-worst 54-point loss, 125-71, on December 31, 2024.

Injuries and Key Moments

Toronto guard Immanuel Quickley missed his second straight game due to a left hip injury.

Meanwhile, Raptors guard Ochai Agbaji exited in the second quarter after sustaining a cut on his right hand that required three stitches. He did not return.

One of the decisive stretches of the game came in the fourth quarter when Jamal Shead sank a three-pointer with 7:36 remaining

That basket capped a 12-4 run for Toronto, giving the Raptors a commanding 100-86 lead—their most significant margin up to that point.

While Porzingis (4-for-5) and Pritchard (4-for-8) excelled from three-point range, the rest of the Celtics struggled, combining to hit just 8 of 33 attempts from deep.

Toronto’s resilience in snapping its losing streak against Boston could provide a much-needed boost as the team looks to build momentum in the season ahead. Will this prove to be a turning point? Get the latest odd for the next NBA game or all others with selected sportsbooks.

The Celtics, who have lost three of their last five games, slipping to a .500 record of 7-7 after starting the season at a scorching 21-5, will host the Orlando Magic on Friday.
