Canadians Feel Jourdain Was Robbed Over Win Against Burgos

The UFC had another successful Fight Night card over the weekend.

This fight night card took place in Long Island, New York and MMA fans were treated to a great night of fights. One of the fights that Canadian MMA fans will not forget anytime soon was an absolute war between Canadian featherweight Charles Jourdain and Shane Burgos who is from New York.

Judges Give Burgos The Win – Canadian Fans Upset

Shane Burgos has a strong fan following as the New Yorker always comes to fight. He had a tough challenge on his hand when he took on Charles Jourdain who is arguably the best MMA fighter in Canada right now. Burgos went in as the favorite and won the first round after he managed to get the back of Jourdain, take him down and score points with the judges.

Jourdain came back in the second as he looked to be more aggressive and started finding the mark and making Burgos pay. UFC commentators gave the second round to Jourdain and it looked like the third and final round would be the decider. 

Burgos started to slow down in the third round while Jourdain started turning up the heat and his shots were landing. The two fighters went toe to toe and it looked like Jourdain was getting the better of the exchanges. When the bell rang, Burgos went back to his corner and did not look too thrilled with his performance. 

However, the judges ruled in favour of the home boy Shane Burgos much to the disappointment of Charles Jourdain. Shane Burgos admitted during the post-fight interview that he was not happy with his performance but was happy he got the win!

Canadian fans took to social media to express their frustration that Burgos walked away with the win. However, Jourdain won a lot of respect with the MMA community in Canada.

Charles Jourdain Could Be Next Big Canadian MMA Star 

Canada’s had two big MMA stars so far with George St. Pierre and Rory Macdonald. George has since retired and Rory is now closer to retirement that ever before. Canada is looking for their next big MMA star and based on the performance against Burgos, Charles Jourdain definitely has the talent to make Canada proud going forward!
