The Winnipeg Jets delivered a strong all-round performance on Monday night, defeating the Seattle Kraken 6-2 at Canada Life Centre.

Connor Scored Twice, Scheifele Added Three Assists

Kyle Connor led the way with two goals, while Jonathan Toews and Gabriel Vilardi each contributed a goal and an assist. Brad Lambert and Vladislav Namestnikov also scored, with Namestnikov sealing the result into an empty net late in the third period.

Mark Scheifele added three assists in a standout playmaking performance, while Josh Morrissey chipped in with two assists of his own. In goal, Connor Hellebuyck made 22 saves to secure the win.

Seattle opened the scoring through Jordan Eberle, who netted his team-leading 25th goal of the season. It marked the fourth straight hockey game in which Winnipeg had allowed the first goal, but this time the response was immediate.

Jonathan Toews managed to tie the game on the power play in the first period, setting the tone for a strong night on special teams.

Winnipeg went on to score three power-play goals in total, marking their most productive night with the man advantage this season.

Decisive Second Period

The second period proved decisive. Vilardi gave Winnipeg its first lead before Connor added his first of the night just minutes later, pushing the Jets firmly in control.

Seattle briefly pulled back into the game early in the third period when Jared McCann cut the deficit to 3-2. However, momentum shifted again when Lambert scored midway through the period, restoring a two-goal cushion and effectively closing the door on a comeback.

A notable moment came late in the game when Seattle goaltender Philipp Grubauer left due to injury after allowing three goals on 15 shots. Joey Daccord stepped in for relief but could not stop Winnipeg’s attack.

The Jets’ victory was also particularly important for Mark Scheifele, who recorded his 900th NHL point with an assist on Connor’s second-period goal, further proving his long-term consistency for the franchise.

In parallel, for Seattle, the defeat extended a difficult stretch, as the team continues to slip in the Western Conference standings with time running out in the season.
