Toronto Blue Jays Destroy Baltimore Orioles 5-0

The Toronto Blue Jays rack up a win after defeated the orioles 5-0 in Baltimore on Tuesday

The Baltimore Orioles continue their road to nowhere after suffering another embarrassing defeat against the Toronto Blue Jays. Baltimore managed a shameful three hits on nine innings as they fell to the Blue Jays 5-0. The loss could be called historic in some manner, but with the season the Orioles are having, it almost seems like just another day when you consider they have lost 106 games this season.

The Blue Jays started with Ryan Borucki, who pitched a near flawless eight innings. While the Jays are second from the bottom in the AL East, they have come away with wins in 13 of the 17 games the two teams have played. Canadian sportsbooks have not been favouring the Jays this season, but when it comes to facing off against the Baltimore Orioles, the Jays are slight favourites.

Punters wanting to get some action will find some top-rated Canadian baseball sports betting sites, and while the Jays are not on top, the Red Sox and New York Yankees are sitting in the one and two spot of the Al East and are well worth punters paying attention to.

Chris Davis, who plays first base for the Orioles feels the frustration adding,

” Once we hit 100, it was kind of like, I don’t know, I honestly didn’t have any words for it. It was embarrassing.”

The Jays have lost 83 games this season, 25 fewer than the Orioles. Baltimore is not just at the bottom of the AL East, but are the worse team in the majors, and have not had such a losing season since 1998, and if things continue as they are, they will surpass the record for the most losses in single season that the St Louis Blues have carried with them since 1939.

In post-game interviews, Davis said it was something you do not want to be associated with. He added by saying,

“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little down right now because of the loss and the way things are going.”

In eight innings, Borucki only gave up three hits, each of those were singles and while two of those made it to third base, the hope of scoring a run ended there. Borucki stated that the defence made some nice plays putting a stop to the ground balls materialising into anything.

Baltimore’s best inning came in the third with runners on first and second. Austin Wynns stepped up to the plate and sent a low ball that was picked up by Lourdes Gurriel Jr who caught the ball, let it drop as a ploy and that caught Baltimore off guard as the Jays turned what could have seen the base loaded but resulted in Toronto getting a double play.

Blue Jay manager, John Gibbons commented saying,

“A lower throw we get three, with first and second and no out, that’s big. They get a knock there you have a different score.”

The third inning also saw the offense being on the side of good fortune for the Jays. Baltimore pitcher Evan Phillips making his MLB debut sent the first five batters back to the bullpen, but that came to an end after Kevin Pillar scored a double, Danny Jansen scored a homerun and Rowdy Tellez earned a single RBI. Pillar also scored a homerun in the seventh and Aledmy’s Diaz added one more in the ninth.
