Canadian hockey takes another hit after reports surfaced that former members of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) have been accused of sexually assaulting a 15 year old girl. The assault is reported to have taken place in 2016 where two out of the three accused were minors and one was of age.

Two Out Of Three Accused Plead Guilty

The Youth Criminal Justice Act in Canada prevents the disclosure of the names of the two accused that were underage at the time. However, Canadian media have confirmed that one of these young men played for the Drummondville Voltigeurs – which is one of the QMJHL teams. The two young men have pleaded guilty to the charges.

The third individual who was of age during the alleged sexual assault has been identified as Noah Corson (pictured) and has yet to enter a plea but has waived his right to a preliminary hearing. Noah is the son of Shayne Corson who is a former member of the Montreal Canadiens and played as a centre.

Victim Identified Her Attackers On Hockey Wall

The victim who was 15 at the time of the attack was dating one of the men whom she met for dinner. They were joined by two more men who she did not know were members of the Drummondville Voltigeurs. After dinner, they ended up going back to her place and engaged in sexual activity when quickly escalated into group sex. The young woman claims that she did not consent to group sex and felt she was violated

The victim who spoke to Radio Canada said that she tried for a long time to erase the incident but struggled. She said she recognized her attackers one day when she was at the Marcel-Dionne Centre center attending a Drummondville Voltigeurs game. She saw the faces of her attackers on the hockey wall and was shocked to realize she was cheering the same individuals who had attacked her!

The victim said she battled suicidal thoughts and was admitted in 2017 to a Montreal psychiatric facility. She was only able to open up and discuss what happened to her a year later.

The Drummondville Voltigeurs said they never received a formal complaint over the incident and were only made aware of the incident after both the accused players left the Voltigeurs.
