Canada’s women’s national soccer team is getting closer to the much-anticipated inaugural CONCACAF W Gold Cup final after it reached another critical milestone on Sunday in Los Angeles.
The 10th-ranking team managed to advance to the final four after defeating 43rd-ranking Costa Rica with a score of 1-0 after extra time, they had previously met in the group stage winning 3-0.
In parallel, the United States, which ranks second worldwide, didn’t have a problem defeating 23rd-ranking Colombia with a score of 3-0 on the same day at the BMP Stadium in Los Angeles at the end of a heated match with no less than seven yellow cards.
Canada vs US in Wednesday’s Semifinal
Now, the two teams are getting ready for what is expected to be a heated confrontation during Wednesday’s semifinal at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego.

Mexico to Confront Brazil In Second Semi
Number 35 worldwide, Mexico, managed to defeat number 50 Paraguay, scoring 3-2 during the same BMO Stadium on Sunday.
The Mexicans are now preparing for a match against 11th-ranking Brazil in the second semifinal that will take place on Wednesday.
