  • List of the 26 players that will represent Canada in Qatar

Canadian football fans were ecstatic when the national team qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. This was the first time in 36 years that Canada has qualified to play the FIFA World Cup as the last time Canada did so was back in 1986.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will take place in Qatar and run from Nov 20 to Dec 18.

Canada Will Find It Tough In Group Stages

Football isn’t one of the more popular sports in Canada but given that Canada is now part of the FIFA World Cup, football will generate a lot more interest in the country, especially if Canada makes it out of the group stage.

It’s not going to be easy for Canada as they are part of Group F which has Belgium, Morocco and Croatia. For Canadian fans who are not familiar with those teams, Belgium is ranked in 2nd place on FIFA’s team rankings, Croatia was the runner-up to France in the 2018 FIFA World Cup and Morocco has remained undefeated in its journey to qualify for the World Cup.

The top two teams in each group will make it to the playoffs and that means Canada need to cause a few upsets. Canadian football fans don’t really expect them to qualify but they do want Canada to play good football and score a few goals.

Canada will open their World Cup campaign on Nov 23 when they face Belgium, play Croatia on Nov 27 and then take on Morocco on Dec 1.
