Myles Creighton Makes History with First Korn Ferry Win

Myles Creighton wins the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour

Summary:

  • Myles Creighton shot an 11-under 59 on Saturday, the first by a Canadian on the Korn Ferry Tour.
  • On Sunday, he shot a 2-under 68 and won the Wichita Open developmental circuit by one stroke.
  • The victory moves him to 16th on the Points List, making him a strong contender for a 2025 PGA Tour card.

It was a dream weekend for Myles Creighton, one that saw him make Canadian golf history and walk away with his first Wichita Open win at the Korn Ferry Tour

His victory comes just one day after he made headlines by becoming the first Canadian to shoot an 11-under 59 in the third round of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Wichita Open

“Just Can’t Believe It.”

Creighton shot a 2-under 68 on Sunday at Crestview Country Club, finishing at 17 under to edge out Mexico’s Emilio Gonzalez by a single shot. The two had even shared a meal the night before.

The putt on 18 — I’ve been working the last week really hard on keeping my head down”, Creighton said after nervously knocking in the tournament-clinching par.

I tend to come up and out of putts, so I’m not picking my head up until I hear something, whether it’s a groan or cheer. I think it lipped in, I actually don’t even know. Just can’t believe it.

The 29-year-old from Digby, Nova Scotia started the final round slowly, going 1 over through the front nine, but found his rhythm on the back, carding an eagle at the par-4 11th and finishing 3 under on the inward stretch.

“I Felt Pretty Good Those Last Five or Six Holes.”

The windy Kansas conditions didn’t make it easy.

If you try to wait for the wind and wait for a gust, then you would wait all day. It took me a long time to get settled into it, and then I felt pretty good those last five or six holes.

Creighton barely made it to the weekend. After struggling early in the tournament, he made a hole-in-one on the par-3 12th Friday and shot a back-nine 30, just enough to sneak him through on the cut line.

I thought about it a lot the last, like, 24 hours. Just feeling like ‘All right,’ kind of thinking about the next week a little bit… I’ve kind of weirdly started to enjoy the fight on a Friday to make a cut.

Creighton’s win jumps him 58 spots to 16th on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List, joining fellow Canadian Sudarshan Yellamaraju (No. 18) in the top 20, a critical position with PGA Tour cards on the line.

A lot of good breaks. Just sticking it, stay within yourself and keep fighting—and you never know.
