Los Angeles Chargers vs New York JetsThe Los Angeles Chargers will meet the New York Jets at the MetLife Stadium in an epic AFC clash on Sunday afternoon for Week 16 NFL action. The Chargers experienced a 30-13 loss on the road against the Chiefs, while the Jets are coming off a 31-19 defeat against the Saints in Week 15. The last time these two teams played against each other was in 2014 where the Chargers took the win 31-0.

The playoff hopes for the Los Angeles Chargers took a sever hit when they faced the Chiefs on the road in a 30-13 loss. Philip Rivers was struggling, only completing 20 passes out of 36 for a total of 227 yards with 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions. Overall, Rivers is having a spectacular season with a total of 3,838 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Melvin Gordon, the leading rusher for the Chargers, put a significant effort into last week by rushing for a total of 78 yards with 6 grabs for a total of 91 yards received. Gordon is having a strong season, rushing 77 yards in 3 games, and registered 931 rushing yards. Keenan Allen gained 54 yards over the course of 5 catches prior to the injury to his back, and it is unknown if he will play for the upcoming game. Allen is experiencing a fantastic season and is leading the Los Angeles Chargers with almost 1200 yards received.

The defense of the Chargers struggled last week, allowing 397 yards. They however have earned the fourth spot in passing defense, but they are experiencing a challenging time in running the ball. The Chargers saw their winning streak of four games demolished last week, but are still in playoff contention being one game behind the AFC West first place Chiefs, but they will have to go 2-0, while the Chiefs need 0-2.

The New York Jets must try and bounce back after a losing streak of two games against the Broncos in Week 14 and the Saints in Week 15. In the game against the Saints, Bryce Petty started as quarterback, replacing Josh McCown, who is on the injured list, and struggled during the game as he only completed 19 out of 39 passes that gave Petty 179 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 picks.

Wide receiver, Robby Anderson, made an impact with 5 grabs for a total of 40 yards in the previous week. Anderson is experiencing a great season with 888 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. The offense of the Jets is expected to struggle for the balance of the season with Bryce Petty in quarterback position. In the loss against the Saints, the Jets defense did manage to keep the Saints in the game up until the 4th quarter. However, they gave up 416 yards in total. The Jets defense is truly struggling in the final 2017 stretch, allowing 24.4 points per contest. The Jets dropped 4 out of 5 games and are currently last in the AFC East division.
