Bolduc Scores Against His Former Team
Montréal broke the deadlock with 11:23 remaining in the second period. Zachary Bolduc fired a one-timer from the right circle to score his fifth goal of the season, with Matheson and Alexandre Texier collecting the assists.
The goal was Bolduc’s first against St. Louis since joining Montréal. The Blues selected the right-winger in the first round of the 2021 NHL Draft before trading him to the Canadiens for defenceman Logan Mailloux.

Xhekaj Nets First NHL Goal
The Canadiens added an insurance goal early in the third period when Florian Xhekaj redirected a Matheson shot with 17:43 remaining.
It was the first NHL goal for Xhekaj, who scored in his ninth career game. Matheson and Kirby Dach assisted on the play.
Fowler then took care of the rest, turning aside St. Louis’ attempts to get back into the game. His 24 saves in the final period helped Montréal secure the two-goal victory.
