Canada continued its dominant run in the CONCACAF U-17 men’s qualifiers, securing an impressive 8-0 victory over Anguilla on Tuesday.

In its tournament opener on Sunday, Canada cruised past the Turks and Caicos Islands with a 6-0 victory

Meanwhile, Anguilla had suffered a 3-0 defeat to Turks and Caicos and a 3-1 loss to Bermuda in its previous matches.

Evans Scored Twice

Canada wasted little time asserting its dominance against Anguilla. Aidan Evans (pictured) led the charge with two goals, helping Canada claim its second consecutive win in the tournament.

The 17-year-old attacking midfield, who plays for Fulham’s under-18 squad in England, was one of several Canadian players to find the back of the net.

William Daniels, Aghilas Sadek, Marius Aiyenero, Sergei Kozlovskiy, Johnny Seleman and Kevin Khan also contributed to the final scoreboard.

The breakthrough came in the eighth minute when goalkeeper Shemor Browne mishandled a cross, allowing Daniels, who represents Leicester City’s under-18 team in England, to slot home the opening goal.

Browne found himself under relentless pressure throughout the match, making several key stops as Canada worked its way through Anguilla’s tightly packed defensive lines.

However, the floodgates opened late in the first half, with Canada striking three more times in the span of just seven minutes, adding goals in the 36th, 39th, and 43rd minutes.

Another goal was disallowed for offside, but Canada remained firmly in control en route to an overwhelming victory.

By halftime, Canada was already in complete control, heading into the break with a 4-0 lead at Devonshire Parish’s National Sports Centre.

Meeting Curacao Next

The contrast between the two teams was stark. Canada’s senior men’s team sits at No. 31 in the FIFA world rankings, while Anguilla lags far behind at No. 209.

The CONCACAF qualification process involves 35 teams from North and Central America, along with the Caribbean, split into eight groups.

Only the group winners will secure a place in the FIFA U-17 World Cup, set to take place in Qatar from November 5-27 which Canadian bettors can get the best soccer odds on ahead of the event. From 2025 to 2029, the tournament will expand to 48 teams and shift to an annual format.

Tuesday’s commanding performance set up a critical clash between Canada and Curaçao, another unbeaten squad with a 2-0-0 record, scheduled for Thursday.

Canada will close out the group stage against host nation Bermuda on Sunday.
