Raptors Confident They Can Make the Playoffs With Youth

Christian Koloko

Summary

  • Toronto Raptors have had a good pre-season warm-up
  • The Raptors have a young team and are confident of making a strong run this season
  • Raptors fans are interested to see how Christian Koloko performs

The Toronto Raptors won the 2019 NBA Championships but their performance after that has slacked off considerably due to a number of reasons.

The Raptors had a reasonable season last year as most NBA experts did not expect them to do well but they finished with a 48-34 record and came in 5th on the Eastern Conference points table.

Raptors Had A Good Pre-Season Warm-Up

The Raptors had a challenging pre-season where they played a total of 5 games and ended up with a 3-2 record. The highlight of their preseason was the fact that they ended up beating the Boston Celtics twice and the Utah Jazz in a game that they dominated and won by 32 points.

Their losses during the preseason helped the Raptors realize where they need to make immediate improvements and changes to their game plans. Overall, the Raptors will be pleased with their performance as they got to test their bench strength and see how some of their younger players have performed.

The last couple of years have been tough for the Raptors, mainly due to injuries to their key players and also because of COVID-19. The last season they were without the services of Pascal Siakam who missed 10 games and Fred VanVleet who also had to sit out a number of games.

Raptors Will Depend On Young Players To Perform

The Raptors have all of their key players fit and ready to play. Pascal Siakam has announced that his goal is to be amongst one of the top five players in the NBA and is keen on making a mark right away this season. The Raptors are also set to give a number of young players a chance to make an impact this season.

Canadian fans are keen to see the 7’1 Christian Koloko (pictured) play for the Raptors and partner with Siakam. The Raptors picked up Koloko from Douala, Cameroon which is the hometown of Pascal Siakam. Scottie Barnes who the Raptors selected ahead Jalen Suggs in the 2021 draft is also expected to be a key part of the team during this season.

The Toronto Raptors will start this season with an opening game on Oct 19 against the Cleveland Cavaliers, checkout the latest basketball live odds here.
