Roslovic Lifts Oilers Past Flyers in Overtime

Summary:
- Jack Roslovic scored 1:19 into overtime after a Philadelphia Flyers turnover, sealing a 2-1 win for the Edmonton Oilers.
- Travis Konecny’s potential game-winner was overturned due to an offside call in the final seconds.
- Connor McDavid extended his point streak to six games with an assist on Evan Bouchard’s opening goal.
The Edmonton Oilers’ Jack Roslovic made the most of a Philadelphia Flyers mistake, scoring on a 2-on-none breakaway just 1:19 into overtime to give his team a 2-1 win over Rick Tocchets’ side on Wednesday night live in the NHL.
It was a tough finish for the Flyers, who thought they had the game wrapped up moments earlier. With only 23.5 seconds left in regulation, Travis Konecny appeared to score the go-ahead goal off a tip-in.
However, after a video review, officials ruled Sean Couturier was offside on the rush, wiping the goal off the board and forcing overtime.
For the Oilers, the win marks their second straight after a rough three-game skid, including a 9-1 blowout loss to Colorado last weekend. Edmonton, now 8-6-4, opened its seven-game road trip on a much-needed high note.
Connor McDavid set up Evan Bouchard for the game’s first goal late in the opening period, giving the Oilers a 1-0 lead with 55 seconds to go before intermission. The assist extended McDavid’s point streak to six games.
Flyers Drop to 8-5-3
The Flyers, who dropped to 8-5-3, had trouble getting out of their own zone for much of the second period. They went more than 15 minutes without a shot on goal before finally breaking through on the power play.
Matvei Michkov tied the game with a wrist shot past Stuart Skinner at 15:38 of the second. Konecny assisted on the play, pushing his point streak to eight games.
Flyers goaltender Dan Vladar stopped 30 shots in the loss.
In other news, in Tampa, Will Cuylle and Vincent Trocheck each scored twice as the Rangers rolled past the Lightning for their second straight win.
J.T. Miller, Alexis Lafrenière, and Will Borgen also scored, while Artemi Panarin collected four assists. Igor Shesterkin made 31 saves as New York improved to 8-1-1 on the road.
Scott Sabourin, Zemgus Girgensons, and Jake Guentzel found the net for Tampa Bay. Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed five goals on 13 shots before being pulled after two periods.
In Salt Lake City, Utah erupted for four goals in the third period to rally past Buffalo. J.J. Peterka and Lawson Crouse scored early in the frame, while Nick Schmaltz and Clayton Keller added insurance goals.
Simon Nemec completed his first career hat trick with the overtime winner as New Jersey edged Chicago. Connor Bedard extended his point streak to nine games with a goal and an assist in the loss.
