Huska: “Dustin Was the Reason Why We Were in That Game.”
There’s been a number of nights in a row where our starts haven’t been good enough. Dustin was the reason why we were in that game.
Despite being down 1-0 after 40 minutes, the Flames found their stride in the final frame, courtesy of goals scored by Adam Klapka, Morgan Frost, and Matt Coronato.
It was a night where Calgary leaned on its resilience and capitalized on key opportunities.
With the Sharks holding a slim lead and momentum on their side, Klapka tied the game at 1-1 midway through the third period by cleaning up a rebound off a Nazem Kadri shot during a fast-developing 2-on-1 rush.
Just a few minutes later, the Flames cashed in on a power play. Frost, working from the left faceoff circle, fired a shot through traffic that beat San Jose goalie Georgi Romanov.

Coronato then gave Calgary a two-goal cushion with just over four minutes left, notching his 22nd goal of the NHL season.
The insurance goal proved critical, as Will Smith struck again for San Jose with two minutes remaining, giving the Sharks late hope, but the Flames locked it down from there.
Smith had both goals for the Sharks, giving him 16 on the season. His first came late in the opening period when he took a slick feed from Nikolai Kovalenko behind the net and quickly beat Wolf from close range.
Warsofsky: “We Did Some Good Things Defensively”
San Jose coach Ryan Warsofsky commented on the team’s performance.
I thought we did some good things defensively. [We] took away time and space, killed some plays, which we’ve talked a lot about. I really liked our first [period]. Wolf made some good saves.
Wolf was solid all night. His saves included a highlight-reel sequence in the second period when he stopped two rapid-fire shots from Macklin Celebrini.
One of those stops came with Wolf flat on the ice, preserving the 1-0 scoreline at the time.
