WPT National Georgia $100,000 Main Event Kicks Off Nov. 6

world poker tourTbilisi, the capital of Georgia is scheduled to host the 2nd World Poker Tour National (WPTN) Georgia. The tournament will start on the 1st of November and end on the 9th of November. The main event comes with a $100,000 guarantee and will take place on the 6th of November. The first WPT National Georgia event took place earlier this year in May and proved to be a great success.

The WPT has formed a partnership with Europe-bet.com, which is the biggest casino and independent poker operator in Georgia and will now host the second Europe-bet.com tournament and is expected to draw hundreds of top poker players from all over the world.

The tournament has a number of exciting events scheduled including the WPT Georgia Poker Championship Day 1a which has a $250 buy-in and a $35,000 guarantee; the WPT Turbo Deep Stack which has a $100 buy-in and a $4,000 guarantee; the WPT Georgia Poker Championship Day 1b which has a $250 buy-in and a $35,000 guarantee and the WPT Caucasus Open Poker Tournament Day 1a which has a $500 buy-in and a $25,000 guarantee.

Nicolas Fleiderman, the CEO of Europe-Bet has been happy to partner with the WPT and host these two tournaments in Tbilisi. Fleiderman had also stated that the partnership will help the Europe-bet.com club increase the popularity of poker and his club in Georgia and will be a benefit to both parties.

Poker players who would like to take a crack at the main event but don’t want to pay out the full buy-in costs will have a chance to enter at a lesser cost by competing in the two satellite events that take place on the 5th and 6th of November. The buy-in for one satellite event is set at $200 and eight seats to the main event is up for grabs while the second satellite event is even lower at $150 and has a maximum of 5 seats to the main event waiting to be won.

The main event for the first WPT Georgia tournament drew a total of 187 players and in the end the event was won by Georgian poker player Levan Shamatava much to the delight of the fans. Shamatava walked away with a cash prize of $40,460 and will most likely be back to see if he can repeat his performance at the second WPT Georgia tournament.
