Houston Rockets Tie Series 2-2

Houston Rockets tie series 2-2 after defeating the Golden State Warriors 95-91

The Houston Rockets took the ball and owned it last night as the met Stephen curry on this own turf. They may have even sent a message to let the Golden State Warriors the mean business and are still in the hunt for the Championship.

The Rockets went into last night games one game down, and needed a win to remain hopeful for when they returned to Houston for game 5. They managed to keep James Harden and Curry, who respectively earned 27 and 30 points last night at bay to even the score in the NBA Western Conference finals.

The Warriors failed to make their last five shots and that allowed the Rockets to edge out Golden State 95-92, a marrow margin but enough to give them the win. Last night’s win comes on the heels of an embarrassing 41 point loss to the Warriors in game 3 on Sunday.

Commenting on the Warriors win in Game 3, James Harden said,

“We’re a team. We’re really good as a team.”

Chris Paul rebound a missed shot by Klay Thompson just before the end of the game and after reviewing the replay, Paul was awarded a free throw with only half a second remaining in regulation time due to being fouled by Shaun Livingston.

Paul, who is dealing with a sore foot from an injury in Game 1 commented, when asked how he is feeling stated,

“A whole lot of treatment. It’s as good as it’s going to be right now.”

The series will see game 5 being played in Houston on Thursday night. The Warriors have yet to go to Game 5 in this year’s playoffs, and for Curry, the fight is on,

“Now we’ve got to fight and really understand that this is a true playoff-type experience.”

For Golden State, it was not their night as with less than a minute and a half left, down 94-91, the Warriors took control of the ball and with both attempts, failed to score desperately needed points if hope to go to overtime was to be realized, that or a win.

Another failed scoring chance game with 42 seconds left on the clock Curry failed to score on a layup and Draymond Green also failed in his attempted at a rebound that ended up fouling Chris Paul.

Commenting on the night’s game, Houston Rockets Coach, Mike D’Antoni said,

“I thought this is the highest level we’ve ever played defensively, without a doubt, because we’re talking about the best offensive team ever.”

With six minutes remaining on the clock, the Rockets gained the lead by one point and with few baskets sunk, the Warriors were unable to regain control and secure a prominent positon in the series with a 3-1 lead, instead, it was the Rockets who came on strong in the final minutes and the result is the fight is on.
