Huberdeau Leads Flames Past Flyers with Two-Goal Night

Jonathan Huberdeau celebrates after scoring two goals against the Philadelphia Flyers during 2025 NHL Season

Summary:

  • Jonathan Huberdeau scored twice as Calgary edged Philadelphia 2-1.
  • Dustin Wolf made 17 saves, ending the Flames’ three-game skid.
  • Tampa Bay, the Islanders, Ducks, and Red Wings also picked up wins.

Jonathan Huberdeau found the back of the net twice on Sunday night, leading the Calgary Flames to a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Both teams looked a bit sluggish after a busy stretch, given it was their fourth hockey game in six nights, but Huberdeau managed to break through early in the second period.

Just over two minutes in, he fired a wrist shot from the left circle, using Yegor Sharangovich’s screen to sneak the puck past Flyers goalie Aleksei Kolosov.

Jonathan Huberdeau added another in the third, redirecting a shot from Mackenzie Weegar at the 7:06 mark for his fourth goal of the season.

Dustin Wolf stopped 17 shots in goal, helping Calgary snap a three-game losing streak.

On the other side, Kolosov made his first start of the season, replacing the injured Sam Ersson, and finished with 19 saves. Travis Konecny scored Philadelphia’s only goal as the Flyers dropped their second straight.
