The Edmonton Oilers pulled off a thrilling comeback Tuesday, when they overcame a two-goal deficit through the first 40 minutes to beat the Ottawa Senators 5-4 in overtime in the NHL

Much-Needed Victory

Leon Draisaitl led the charge with two goals and three assists, while Evan Bouchard scored the overtime winner, giving Edmonton a crucial victory after a rough stretch.

Draisaitl matched Jari Kurri (1,043) for third on the Oilers’ all-time points list and recorded his 301st multi-point game, moving past Mark Messier in franchise history.

The game’s climax came when Brady Tkachuk was in the penalty box for a late hit on Connor McDavid. Edmonton moved the puck to Bouchard, who blasted home his 18th goal of the season to seal the comeback.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zach Hyman also found the net for the Oilers (30-24-8), snapping a streak in which they had lost five of six. The game marked Edmonton’s first home matchup in a month, and the victory was a much-needed morale boost.

Pushing for Playoff

For Ottawa (29-22-9), Drake Batherson continued his hot streak, scoring two goals for the second game in a row, while Dylan Cozens and Michael Amadio also scored. The Senators have been pressing hard for a playoff spot, going 6-1-2 over their last nine games.

Connor Ingram made 17 saves for Edmonton, while Linus Ullmark stopped 32 for Ottawa.

Tim Stützle continues to shine despite illness, picking up two assists to extend his points streak to 10 games, tallying 14 points in that span.

He joins Daniel Alfredsson and Jason Spezza as the only players in franchise history with multiple 10-game point streaks in a single season.

Rookie Matt Savoie has been making an impact, assisting on a goal to extend his career-high four-game points streak, collecting seven points in that span.

Edmonton tied the game with 1:25 remaining in the third, as Hyman tipped a Draisaitl pass under Ullmark to send the hockey match into overtime.

Up next, Ottawa will visit Calgary on Thursday, while Edmonton will host Carolina on Friday.
