Tage Thompson delivered a standout performance Monday night, netting two goals to propel the Buffalo Sabres to a 3-2 win against the Edmonton Oilers.

Seventh Defeat in 10 Games for the Oilers

Thompson’s pair of goals brought his season tally to 33, maintaining his position as the team’s top scorer.

Alex Tuch also scored a crucial goal, and goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 32 saves to secure the win.

On Edmonton’s side, goals were scored by Evan Bouchard and Darnell Nurse. Leon Draisaitl provided two assists, managing to extend his impressive 15-game point streak.

During this stretch, Draisaitl has recorded a total of 11 goals and 12 assists. Stuart Skinner faced 22 shots and stopped 19 in the loss.

The Oilers have now dropped seven of their last 10 contests.

Senators Defeat Red Wings 2-1

Linus Ullmark was once again proved by the Ottawa Senators, who acquired him last season. He stood tall with an incredible 48-save performance in a 2-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

Ullmark was especially dominant in the second period, turning aside all 27 shots he faced to match a franchise record. This marked his eighth consecutive start for Ottawa.

Dylan Cozens found the back of the net for the first time as a Senator, while David Perron also contributed a goal.

Detroit’s Dylan Larkin managed to break through in the third period with a short-side shot past Ullmark, but it wasn’t enough. Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot finished with 21 saves in the defeat.

Maple Leafs Beat Utah 4-3

Mitch Marner played the hero in the shootout, securing the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 4-3 victory over the Utah Hockey Club. The win snapped Toronto’s three-game losing streak (0-2-1) since defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins.

In the first period, Toronto built an early lead with power-play goals from William Nylander and Calle Jarnkrok. Simon Benoit extended the advantage to 3-0 early in the second.

However, Utah stormed back, starting with a goal from Michael Carcone midway through the second. Nick Schmaltz struck less than a minute later, and Barrett Hayton’s power-play goal evened things up before the period ended.

Joseph Woll registered 30 saves for the Maple Leafs, while Karel Vejmelka stopped 23 shots for Utah. Auston Matthews and Clayton Keller also converted in the shootout.
