Dele Alli struck by Bottle After Tottenham beats Arsenal

The Tottenham Spurs and Arsenal F.C League Cup match on Wednesday ended with the Sours coming away with a 2-0 victory, but it was not without drama after Dele Alli was hit on the head by a bottle that came from the stands.

The midfielder was stuck while trying helping Tottenham secure their 2-0 victory over Arsenal F.C and earn a place in the League Cup semifinal. The bottle, in this case was plastic and thrown from the crowd in attendance in relational against Alli after an earlier incident with Arsenal goaltender Petr Cech. It was first time that Tottenham had won against Arsenal since 2010 and that is good news for punters, and preferred sports betting sites such as bet365, who are hoping to see the Spurs go to the finals

The incidents resulted in helmeted police going into the stands to act as a barrio between fans of Arsenal and those in attendance for the Tottenham Spurs. The fan responsible for throwing the bottle has not been identified, but if caught will be banned from future games at Emirates Stadium.

Mauricio Pochettino, manager of Tottenham, commenting on the incident said,

“It’s lucky it wasn’t a big issue. Only one stupid person made a mistake. I hope that Arsenal take responsibility and, through the cameras, they can identify [who it was]. It wasn’t a problem but it could have been a big problem, some big issue and how are we going to fix it?”

The only team standing in the way of Tottenham making to the finals. For Mauricio Pochettino, the fact they have not earned the trophy is a black spot, but the clubs spending pales in comparison to other Premier League teams, and their progress has been evident with results such as yesterday’s match against Arsenal.

Tottenham’s goals both came as a result of goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga kicking the ball high. The first of those came 20 minutes into the first half after Alli connected with Gazzaniga’s kick who then passed it to Son Heung-Min who sent it past the goal to make it 1-0 for Tottenham.

The second goal came after Gazzaniga once again sent the ball high, Harry Kane quickly sent the ball to Alli who sent it over the head of Czek making it 2-0 for Tottenham at the 59th minute of play. Three weeks earlier Tottenham has lost to Arsenal and yesterday’s win was revenge, and with Arsenal losing to Southampton the Sunday before, they have lost the last two matches after going 22 games without a defeat.

With the win, the Spurs are in contention in four different fronts including Chelsea and Man City. There run in the F.A cup begins in January, then there is the Champions League last 16 and the Premier League. They will next face Everton on Sunday before meeting Bournemouth on the 26th.
