While she aggravated her wrist early in the final set of the second game when she stumbled to the ground, she kept going and pushed through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a brief exchange with her fans, the Charlotte, N.C.-born took the opportunity to thank them for their support while acknowledging the &#8220;<em>truly difficult<\/em>\u201d but \u201c<em>incredible match<\/em>\u201d, adding \u201c<em>anything can happen<\/em>&#8220;\/<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The crowd had been behind her all night, waving \u201c<em>Allez Vicky<\/em>\u201d signs and chanting her name. As soon as her opponent\u2019s final forehand sailed long, Mboko acknowledged her win and dropped her head in her hands as the stadium erupted in cheers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>I had everyone supporting me and pushing me through. Without you guys, I don\u2019t think I would have been able to pull this through.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"playing-for-the-trophy\">Playing for the Trophy&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With the win, <strong>Mboko becomes the youngest Canadian woman to reach the final<\/strong> at the tournament, and the first since Bianca Andreescu\u2019s 2019 triumph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She\u2019ll now <strong>face Naomi Osaka in the final<\/strong>, and her performance in Montreal has already catapulted her from outside the top 300 to at least No. 34 in the rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The electricity in the stadium was hard to ignore, especially after her win over Coco Gauff earlier in the tournament.
