Henderson has decided to leave her role at CEO of <strong>Curling Canada<\/strong> and take on the role of Hockey Canada CEO from Sep 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"hockey-canada-looks-to-change-image-under-henderson\"><strong>Hockey Canada Looks To Change Image Under Henderson<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Hockey Canada\u2019s reputation took a massive beating in the last 18 months due to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.betting.ca\/news\/hockey-canada-gang-rape-cover-up-investigation-progressing-well\">allegations of sexual misconduct and a cover-up job<\/a>. The media brought to light the toxic culture fostered by Hockey Canada over the years and the number of individuals that suffered due to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With constant media pressure, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.betting.ca\/news\/hockey-canada-confirms-entire-board-including-ceo-will-step-aside\">the entire board of directors for Hockey Canada resigned<\/a> along with <strong>President Scott Smith<\/strong> who was also the CEO. A new board of directors was then appointed and their goal was to make significant changes that helped Hockey Canada rebuild trust in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new chairman who is retired judge <strong>Hugh L. Fraser<\/strong> decided with the board that Henderson was the right person for the job. Henderson will have her work cut out when she resumes her role on Sep 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Henderson will help Hockey Canada develop a strategic plan that will look to embrace inclusion and boost the popularity of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.betting.ca\/hockey\">hockey<\/a> throughout the country. Henderson will be based out of Toronto and will do a press conference with the media at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"henderson-happy-to-take-on-new-role-with-hockey-canada\"><strong>Henderson Happy To Take On New Role With Hockey Canada<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Henderson has been a<strong> big advocate of gender equity<\/strong> and received a diploma in 2022 from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for her work to attain gender equity. Her appointment has already had a big impact for Hockey Canada with sponsor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bauer.com\">Bauer<\/a> resuming its partnership with Hockey Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement, Henderson said <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The future of hockey is limitless. As a winter sport nation, with a long tradition in our ice and snow sports, playing and watching hockey is undeniably a part of who we are as Canadians.
