The Vegas Golden Knights celebrate after defeating the Edmonton Oilers 6-3 on Sunday night in Las Vegas to earn their second win in the last three games<\/p><\/div>\nThe Edmonton Oilers have been struggling this year, but it took less than a minute for Connor McDavid to score for the Oilers, but it was the Golden Knights who changed the game.<\/p>\n

At the end of the third period, it was the Vegas Golden Knights<\/a> with six, the Oilers with three, and for Edmonton fans, the early anticipation and hope was taken away and replaced with another loss for the struggling Canadian franchise.<\/p>\n

Leon Draisaitl and Alex Chiasson scored Edmonton’s other two goals. Drake Caggiula, Leon Draisaitl, Matt Benning, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins each earned assists. However, it was the Golden Knights Jonathan Marchessault who once again proved dominant in both speed and skill last night scoring twice and earning an assist.<\/p>\n

The Knights scored three goals in just over two minutes during the second period. The first came at the 17:38, the second at 16:08 and the third at 15:26 to take a 4-2 lead over Edmonton, and it didn\u2019t get much better for the Edmonton Oilers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jonathan Marchessault said the team need to build off Sundays win adding,<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had a tough first 20 games and everybody knows that. We need to catch up from our slow start. There is no magic, we just have to play fast. If we play fast, we\u2019re giving options to each other quick and we\u2019re playing our best and that\u2019s what we did tonight.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Golden Knights have seemed to fix the problems that burdened them at the beginning of the season and have won two of their last three games. For Cody Eakin, he feels that they came out strong in the second and it all came together. He added,<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had a few in the back of the net, that\u2019s what we needed. It\u2019s been a little inconsistent and hopefully we can build a little momentum here and play the way we need to be successful.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
